Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Bills proving the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that draws so many fans into the NFL
This outcome may have opened things up for the New England Patriots to move back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a remaining games that gives them an edge over their 8-2 rivals
Over in the NFC the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had ideal outcomes to set up a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the MVP award
The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?
Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or something more? This remains the question for the Bills to address
The Bills had won seven in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the start as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 winners in an eye-opening outcome - and display
MVP Josh Allen only got the squad's opening first down in the third quarter and first points in the final quarter - admittedly the Dolphins had ten days to get ready but it was still a significant failure produced by one of the NFL's top offences
Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two touchdowns but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two scores
Containing the league's best rushing attack was also key, with Cook and teammates registering just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the season and slightly more than half their 161.5 yard season average
Then there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen in particular. An pass caught by defense in the end zone meaning a nine minute possession produced nothing, and his final quarter fumble that Miami turned into seven points just two plays
It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defensive side and Allen trying to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - not the calm, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this season
The Dolphins have demonstrated a varied performances this season so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll require an instant response in a tough game against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the Patriots are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East
Spotlight - New England See Path to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the Patriots, they're one of three eight and two squads in the NFL, all AFC sides, but are they the best?
You can find flaws in the Patriots, the Broncos and the Colts actually for dominating the lesser sides, with just five of their total twenty-four victories coming against opponents with a winning record - and one of those was the Colts defeating the Denver
Denver beat the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots adding Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their primtime success in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration
Their pair of losses occurred in recently appointed coach Vrabel's first three contests, with seven straight wins, similar to Denver, since then - but defeating Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to get ready was significant
Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he certainly earns point for bravery after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa but persevering to guide his side to victory
The defense is reliable and first-year running back TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating scores of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth different ball carrier to break 22mph this year on his initial touchdown
While you can debate who 'the best' is technically, the Pats should be favorites to finish with the top record thanks to their schedule - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, albeit a huge one against Buffalo
Visiting Baltimore is also tough, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Chiefs to play twice, the Chargers (who might also challenge for first place but face the identical challenge) and also the Green Bay on the schedule
The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There is a long way to go but the opportunity is available for a shock number one position in the AFC
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Week 11 Showdown
Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three different eight and two teams are NFC West rivals the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who each scored forty points to go to 7-2 ahead of next week's Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the two in LA
They've both won four in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Darnold playing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units allowing fewer than twenty points a game
Each could easily be without a loss as well - especially the Rams as their two defeats occurred in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning field goal with the final play deflected and run back by the Philadelphia for a touchdown
Seattle also lost to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before falling to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they're truly among the top teams in the NFL
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the season so far
Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
Jonathan Taylor could be on for a record season after his incredible display in Berlin - rushing for 244 yards, registering three scores and adding another 42 {receiving yards
