Stateside performer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular programs like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a announcement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

A Prolific Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.

He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a six-person improv troupe known as "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.

Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
