Based on data from Israel, at least 98 Palestinians have perished while in custody starting from October 2023. A human rights group located in Israel has indicated that the real number is almost certainly significantly higher, as a result of hundreds of disappeared people in Gaza.

Other prisoners who perished in detention in Israel remain anonymous. The prison service and armed services provided analysts with the total of deaths in confinement, and minimal additional information including the site where they lost their lives, but excluding the detainees’ identities.

Recognition Difficulties
