Salah Issues Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the group of players in the wake of the uproar from his public comments.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a European match after criticising the club and suggesting his relationship with manager had broken down.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
The manager has chosen not to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the player.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
He also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I get that there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the games following the situation. He feels the outburst were never meant to harm the team.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, getting results and securing victories.”
